Summary of Glory Road
Phillip Dexter moves from Edmonton, Alberta with his family to a small Texas town in the Summer of 1988 in search of the American Dream. He thinks his whole world is going to change for the better when his father gets a job with a big oil firm in west Texas. Everything is great when his family moves to the small west Texas town of Quanah. He makes new friends, learns new customs, and starts to get the feel for American way of life. His whole world changes on a late July night in 1991 when his father is killed in an accident out in the fields just outside of town. Phillip and his brother, Jeff, later come to learn that their father's death could have been possibly prevented if the CEO of the firm had not blatantly ignored safety concerns for years.
Left with only the quest to find the truth, they quickly come to learn that the CEO is bigger than the town. They embark on a journey to uncover the truth that led to their father's death. They seek to make the person or persons responsible pay for his untimely death. Their quest becomes harder when Frank learns the boys' blame him for Ron's death. He makes their lives unpleasant to the point they start to plan his murder and their eventual takeover of Tricon to finally settle the score.
